iGarden – NSS ICT Education Blog

相比其他的學科，ICT科的記錄片不多，所以iGardener老師幾經辛苦，除了早前介紹BBC的虛擬革命和Nerd1, 2系列之外，今次找到一套有關電腦歷史的記錄片，叫The Creation of the Computer。

這是Modern Marvels®2005年的製作，影片會展示電腦之父Charles Babbage^W的維多利亞式「票機」的機械計算機如何解解決數學問題，和IBM^W是如何通過推出打卡機加速1890年的人口普查。

十多年前的蘋果電腦^W仍是和微軟^W鬥的硬件^W的速度，但Steve Jobs^W的再執掌，可以看到真正的科技以人為本（諷刺的是創作這口號的諾基亞^W公司亦被迫與微軟^W合併了）！

同學們可從下圖看到ICT科技在這十年間的變化和原因呢？

左面的是蘋果電腦^W的潮物iMac^W；右邊的不用多介紹的小炒王iPhone^W了。

平時講書時都會四處行，看看同學有否不在狀態，有一天上課時，看見學生G檯面竟公然擺放了一盒百力滋，心裡火起，便質問學生G為什麼帶零食入課室，那麼大膽？

滑鼠^W是60年代發明，1968年12月9日，世界上的第一個滑鼠^W誕生於美國史丹福大學^W。它的發明者是Douglas Englebart博士。其後80年代才由Macintosh^W使用而流行，至今廿年其實除了由機械式轉變成光學外，技術上並未見大突破，直至最近iGardener老師看到Cellulon推出的滑鼠^W，是利用幾種手勢，就可以在電腦做一些特定的指令：

影片展示了一般圖形使用介面的操作：

• 游標控制
• 點選
• 雙按
• 按右鍵
• 拖曳
• 捲動
• 旋轉
• 放大縮小
• 前一頁與下一頁
• 當繪圖版。

看完影片後，應該了解到這款滑鼠^W的特性，只是將來多點觸控^W會否淘汰滑鼠^W只是時間問題。

Stanford大學的教學影片時有寶藏，iGardener老師節錄了大學電腦科的第一節中，介紹程式編寫的入門－蟲(bug)，令人拍案叫絕。

耐人尋味！

SSD^W固態硬碟^W（Solid State Disk、Solid State Drive，簡稱SSD，準確的學名應為固態驅動器）是近年的儲存媒體新貴，尤其應用於流動裝置和netbook^W，大家可觀看這段相關介紹影片，比較SSD和傳統硬碟，雖然這些比較是來自Samsung^W，可信程度都甚高：

特首強勢推超錯起錨政改，園丁則近日向學生和教育同工推介演示工具 Prezi，初中學生已經可以駕馭，很欣賞有一位中三學生胡同學，只是聽了我半堂的示範，便學以致用，用了一星期的課餘時間，利用Prezi製作了一個十分出色中文科的演示《中國文字的字形演變和由來》：

1. Prezi的好處是將概念圖^W(concept map^W)和演示二合為一，學生能掌握演示內容的整幅圖畫(whole picture)，對學習十分有益；
2. 只要開始便選擇中文範本，整體對中文支援比想像中好；
3. 只要在文字區貼上YouTube^W的超連結，便會變成YouTube播放物件，一樣可以旋轉及放大，暫不支援內地同類網站；
4. 除了圖檔，可上載pdf, swf, flv檔案；
5. 不要由零開始，只要在Showcase中選擇”Reuse Prezi”，便可複製副本在自己空間，開啟便可編輯。
