我們的學生自少便被誤導「PowerPoint即是演示」，他們以為演示只是隨便複製一堆文字和插入一些罐頭clipart便成，但這幾年來Steve Jobs等科技猛人示範了何謂多媒體演示，以下就是一個頗全面的介紹：
多媒體演示創新系列(5) – HTML5的好處及壞處
新一代網頁標準HTML 5W，成為網絡熱談，因為它不是一個品牌像Adobe FlashW，ICT或夕陽CA可以在考卷直接引用”HTML 5W”，現時仍未有任何教科書（包括長人出版社）提及這概念，故此園丁想在此列出HTML5的pros and cons（相對流行的動畫W軟件 Adobe FlashW）：
HTML 5W的好處：
- Open Source not Proprietary like Flash
- Uses less computer resources. Uses 20% of computer resources compared to 40% for Flash – this makes a big difference when someone is trying to view anything, regardless of their internet connection (DSL, Cable, Modem, T1, etc.)
- Improves video and audio quality – extensively – thus your Social Learning/Social Media experience has just increased infinitely; Vivemo, Blip.tv and YouTube (beta) are already offering videos in HTML5 players.
- Improved interactivity over Flash

[生活分享] 著名籃球教練John Wooden金句集
園丁不諳藍球，但最近得悉美國著名籃球教練John Wooden逝世，享年九十九歲。
他擔任教練廿九年，對年青人必定十分了解，才可寫出以下數十金句，值得老師用來勉勵學生：
- A coach is someone who can give correction without causing resentment.
- Ability is a poor man’s wealth.
- Adversity is the state in which man mostly easily becomes acquainted with himself, being especially free of admirers then.
- Be more concerned with your character than your reputation, because your character is what you really are, while your reputation is merely what others think you are.

多媒體演示創新系列(3) – 中三學生也可以駕馭Prezi
特首強勢推超錯起錨政改，園丁則近日向學生和教育同工推介演示工具 Prezi，初中學生已經可以駕馭，很欣賞有一位中三學生胡同學，只是聽了我半堂的示範，便學以致用，用了一星期的課餘時間，利用Prezi製作了一個十分出色中文科的演示《中國文字的字形演變和由來》：
幾點最新的領會：
- Prezi的好處是將概念圖W(concept mapW)和演示二合為一，學生能掌握演示內容的整幅圖畫(whole picture)，對學習十分有益；
- 只要開始便選擇中文範本，整體對中文支援比想像中好；
- 只要在文字區貼上YouTubeW的超連結，便會變成YouTube播放物件，一樣可以旋轉及放大，暫不支援內地同類網站；
- 除了圖檔，可上載pdf, swf, flv檔案；
- 不要由零開始，只要在Showcase中選擇”Reuse Prezi”，便可複製副本在自己空間，開啟便可編輯。
